Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I’m gearing up to cook an epic feast that’s nut-free, gluten-free, and also includes dairy-free and vegan options! One of the trickiest items is stuffing, a dish usually full of gluten..and nuts. Today is also National Stuffing Day, which felt like the perfect time for me to share a few of my favorite recipes and pre-made allergen-free (nut-free and gluten-free specifically) stuffing mixtures.
Of all the puddings in the world, the variety that has won my heart is rice pudding. After transitioning into a gluten-free diet, I discovered an even deeper love for this sweet treat which is naturally gluten-free, and nut-free! As today is National Rice Pudding Day I wanted to share a few of my favorite rice pudding recipes from around the internet.
It’s no secret I have a sweet tooth, but I love when I can find something that feels a bit sinful to eat and figure out a recipe to make it healthier and allergy-free. After going gluten-free a few years ago waffles seemed like a breakfast item I could safely say goodbye to. Other than buckwheat, most waffles aren’t gluten-free and honestly, while delicious, are not particularly healthy. This changed after I discovered a recipe that was full of protein, and free of allergens: Power Protein Waffles!
To celebrate national chocolate chip cookie day day I’m sharing five of my favorite allergy-free chocolate chip cookies that can be purchased in stores. These cookies are 100% gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and many are also top-8 free. As a bonus I’m including the best allergy-free chocolate chip cookie recipe if you want to get fancy and bake your own.
While I love classic brownies, one of the flavor profiles I can never get enough of is Mexican chocolate. Something about the spicy kick mixed with the sweetness of chocolate is one of the best things in the world. I did some experimenting and am happy to report back that my recipe for Mexican Brownies using The Really Great Food Company’s Brownie Mix is a must try. Beware, you won’t be able to eat just one!
Through my mad search combos on Google, I stumbled upon The Really Great Food Company. Intrigued by their straight-forward and promising name, I found that they made baking mixtures that were gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free, and more. Best of all? They had a Irish Soda Bread mix. Taking less than an hour to make this seemed like something I could make happen. It’s a miracle!
Today we’re talking all about KUGEL! The combo of sweet and savory really speaks to me..which is why when I moved towards a gluten-free, nut-free diet, Kugel seemed like a dish I’d have to say goodbye to. With Passover right around the corner, I went on a search for my favorite gluten-free, nut-free, kugel recipes. Even if you don’t celebrate Passover, I highly recommend trying kugel, it will change your life!
As a child, one of my favorite indulgent meals was orange chicken from Panda Express. I’m now aware how bad this dish is for you (gluten! fried! full of fat!). My challenge this week was to re-create the Allergy Free Wife version. It would need to be healthy, and free of gluten, nuts, and dairy. The verdict? Success!
Every year when St. Patrick’s Day rolls around I get excited as it’s a chance for me to eat my favorite Irish food! It’s been a bit more difficult the past few years due to my gluten-intolerance and accommodating my husband’s nut allergy, but this year will be a different story! Here are some of my favorite nut-free, gluten-free, and a few dairy-free St. Patrick’s Day recipes.
March 2nd marks “National Banana Cream Pie Day” which seemed like an appropriate time for me to highlight a few of my favorite nut-free, gluten-free, and dairy-free variations on this classic flavor profile. Everyone knows how to make a classic Banana Cream Pie, but these recipes take it to a whole new level. Enjoy!
Popcorn goes perfectly hand-in-hand with movie watching. Its such a great, versatile snack that can be made with endless toppings, flavors, and flavor profiles, depending on if you’re in the mood for sweet or savory. To celebrate The Oscars which are happening this weekend, I’m sharing a few of my favorite nut-free, gluten-free popcorn picks.
I love pudding. I know it’s not the most popular of all the dessert options, but for me knowing that most puddings are naturally gluten-free and often also nut-free, I always like to choose the underdog in the world of dessert. Did you know that February 17th is National Indian Pudding Day? If so, happy National Indian Pudding day! If not, prepare to be introduced to a delicious, easy, historic treat. I’m sharing my favorite Indian Pudding Recipes to celebrate this delicious day.
