National Rice Pudding Day, Allergy Free Wife Style

The Allergy Free Wife’s Top 5 Favorite Gluten-Free, Nut-Free Rice Pudding Recipes (Dairy-Free Options too!)

Of all the puddings in the world, the variety that has won my heart is rice pudding. After transitioning into a gluten-free diet, I discovered an even deeper love for this sweet treat which is naturally gluten-free, and nut-free! As today is National Rice Pudding Day I wanted to share a few of my favorite rice pudding recipes from around the internet, including some crazy variations on the traditional recipe (hint: pumpkin, black rice, chocolate, and more!). Served hot or cold, plain or with toppings, flavored or classic, rice pudding is one of life’s greatest treasures that also happens to be gluten-free, nut-free, and can be easily made dairy-free. Enjoy!

Cardamom Infused Black Rice Pudding with Blueberries and Coconut from Earthy Feast: Black rice aka Forbidden Rice is one of my favorite treats. It’s a bit hard to find, but I love the consistency, it’s a bit chewier than traditional brown or white rice. Black rice also has the highest amount of antioxidants, protein, and iron. This simple recipe can be served with fruit for breakfast, or topped with coconut shavings and chocolate chips for dessert. Get the recipe here.
